In Florida the age of consent for sexual intercourse is 18 years old. It’s the same as in most other jurisdictions. However Florida has a special exemption card dealt for if the minor is 16 years of age or older and the other person involved in the sexual conduct is no older than 23, then that makes it a noncriminal, or nonpunishable act. At that point the consent would be recognized as valid. We also call this the Romeo and Juliet law.
