In Florida, burglary and robbery are separated by some old school concepts that we used to call like, breaking and entering. That would be the burglary. Burglary is the entry into a place, or if you’re already there, remaining in a place without permission in order to commit a crime while you’re in there, so that could be a house or obstruction of some other kind or a car, what have you, where robbery is actually a theft from a person while they’re present, utilizing either sudden snatching or disguise or physical violence or threats of physical violence. So robbery is the actual act of taking something from someone else while they’re there, and burglary is much more typically of a stealthy type crime.
